Eutectic Cooling

Eutectic cooling is a type of refrigeration based on the use of cold energy absorbed by a eutectic solution between plates. The principle of eutectic cooling is similar to the idea of placing ice packs in water to keep it cold. The system's operating principle is as efficient as it is simple. Eutectic cooling systems are specially designed systems primarily used for the distribution of ice cream and frozen foods.

1.1 EUTECTIC PLATE Eutectic plates can absorb energy thanks to their special solutions and can store the absorbed energy for a long time. With eutectic plates, cooling can be performed down to “+5” and “-40” degrees. Eutectic plates are charged at night. They store cold energy and slowly release it as cold air, thereby cooling the surrounding area.

1.2 Structure of the Eutectic Plate Eutectic plates can be made of plastic or steel sheets. Plastic ones are lighter and cheaper. The material is determined according to the purpose of use. Steel plates consist of two cold-formed steel sheets welded together by electric resistance welding. The outer surface is coated with a thin layer of zinc. Inside the plate, there is a special eutectic solution with a fixed freezing and melting point. The eutectic evaporator (ring type) is located inside the plate and ensures the freezing of the solution. Together with semi-hermetic compressors, it forms the system.

1.2.1 Basic Benefits of Eutectic Plates Zero noise Continuous cooling even when the vehicle engine is off Zero emissions Does not require fuel or energy during delivery Low failure rate It is an environmentally friendly system Low maintenance cost Ease of use

2. EUTECTIC COOLING IN REFRIGERATED VEHICLE BODIES The vehicle body, which was previously cooled with electricity for 4-6 hours, is then disconnected from the power source and starts its journey to its destination. During transportation, the cold energy stored in the plates will be expended, and the body will be kept at the desired temperature levels. This process takes 18 to 24 hours. Therefore, the body carries its goods for a journey of up to 24 hours at reliably pre-set temperature levels without consuming any energy or passing through their own motors.

2.1 Connection of Eutectic Plates to Refrigerated Bodies For the installation of the plate, special supports made of stainless nuts and bolts, steel profiles, and a special non-slip rubber must be used.

3. SMALL EUTECTIC COOLED CABINETS Small eutectic cabinets are preferred for frozen or chilled foods and in the pharmaceutical industry. Pre-cooled eutectic plates are placed inside the insulated cabinet. The number and capacity of the plates are determined according to the desired temperature and usage time.

4. EUTECTIC COOLING IN CONTAINER-TYPE COLD STORAGE Eutectic cooling can also be applied in containers. The principle is similar to the one in refrigerated vehicle bodies. The number and size of the plates are determined according to the material to be stored inside.

BENEFITS OF EUTECTIC COOLING

It is a reliable, environmentally friendly system. It is based on reusable energy. It is extremely flexible and can be used for chilled or frozen products. It consists of plates that require almost no maintenance and can be adjusted to maintain various temperatures for different applications.

This technology provides significant savings in energy and costs during cold or frozen product transport operations. The goods reach their final destination, independent of factors inherent to the driver and other factors. The cooling unit is in no way connected to the vehicle engine. Therefore, it does not cause additional fuel consumption while the body is in motion. Another advantage of using eutectic-type bodies is that the same body can be divided into separate compartments to allow the simultaneous transportation of both cold and frozen products.

The eutectic system-cooled body is completely independent of the chassis, so it always provides a constant temperature. Once the eutectic plates are charged, they provide reliable and fast cooling for a specific period, even with frequent door openings. In case of vehicle failure, the goods are preserved. The eutectic system also does not use diesel.

Eutectic cooled bodies make refrigerated vehicles a green alternative compatible with both electric trucks and internal combustion engines. Due to zero emissions and no engine noise, such refrigerated trucks are ideal, especially in urban areas. It is a thermal energy storage system that can be frozen repeatedly. You can charge it for as long as you need for your customer delivery and make your delivery without wasting unnecessary energy. The system provides continuous and even temperatures, requiring less energy, thus facilitating maintenance and logistics, increasing profits.
